This may in fact go down as the mission with the most navigators,
unless Appleseed had in fact turned into one of those super-talented
polymorphs. We launched from Fort Summer at close to the appointed
mission hour with a few maggots and a babymaggot (Swass!) in tow. This
despite TrezBonez efforts to throw Buckminister for a loop with an
early onset mechanical. We got our jam on and managed to early direct
highland ave traffic, which was great except for the backing up
highland ave a bit. We circled the Davis Constellation a few times
before hitting up Fort Houston-we-have-a-problem to take care of
Acehole's groove problem. Oh, and Mechanical! in space!
From there it was a top secret route involving hills and near disco
star hits as we made our way to the JP system. Through some creative
team consensus navigating we made it most of the way to Buntjigger's
BBQ, however there was some confusion after some gnarly g-well
activity near her fort left us all incredibly drained (in space) and
unable to read the street sign that... oh right... wasn't there. No
matter. We in fact found the amazing downhill and managed to pull out
of orbit without killing too many anythings. I do believe this effort
put our friendly navi-polymorph in jeopardy and appleseed wasn't seen
again. Buntjigger ensured that pilots were provided with molecules of
joy. Launch down the hill was pretty neat. I'm sure other pilots
beside me got bruised trying to leave the BBQ orbit.
Space was now our frontier as we fought our way through 2
navigators on to the Arrrr-boretoreum. We made it though there was
some more bailing, but also some floatie additions to our merry crew.
We made it to the top of the Arrrrr-boretoreum and ignited small
photon ray sticks and ran around, and what happened to all the space
suits? Some pilots are just so brave... space walking... without a
spacesuit.... in space.
We hit up a refuelling station not long after, said goodbye to the
JP system locals of our crew, and headed on home, with a great view of
this weird star event as we crossed the wormhole gateway back into the
Cambridge system. Oh, and polymorphing navimagator struck again on
that last stretch. I guess it's not fun if the tailgunner only gets
one pilot to try and coordinate with.
Despite intense amounts of lens flare, we made it to the landing
pad in style and concluded the 13th anniversary celebration of scul.
Hip hip... hooray, in space!
