Prometheus Rising (Starchasers Alphamission)

Starchaser Alphamission kicked off at Fort Jonathan with all the pomp and circumstance the team could muster. Civitron opened the airlock, surveyed the hangar deck and considered the work that has been accomplished here in just a few short months. He reflected on the struggle to find a fort suitable enough to house a growing fleet, assembling a team of intrepid adventurers, the enthusiastic support from the crew of Prime Division, and the hard work and dedication invested by all to build a mighty fleet of starships that would become SCUL's 4th Division, The Starchasers!

Eager to get an early start, Sage, the XO and First Officer of the Starchaser Division, had arrived and it was time to get to work. We were soon joined by Cobb and Talbot, and cadets Beatleman and China and the cutest little space puppy! The fort was alive and began to buzz with creative energy. Artemis was fitted with a sizable set of disruptor dishes (sans jack-o-lanterns) and lasers galore! We installed a mother droid in the fort, activated sonic disruption, and set-up the launch time on Mission Control. MRC was in full effect.

As the announcement was made for all pilots to get to the launch pad, we began our mad scramble to begin our first official mission. On the pad, we were graced by a call from FAdm. Skunk and the Metro Alpha Division wishing us well on our first official mission of our first official season. We felt the love oozing from our communication device as we prepared for our opening ceremonies. Then, we knighted fellow founding members Cobb and Talbot, babymaggots China and Beatleman were allowed the honor of christening the FTL Merica, and Civitron said a few words about being proud of the work everyone has put in and about being the superhero versions of ourselves and we were truly ready to BUST.THE.FUuuUUUuuuuUuuuu...... ???!!! Radiobox failure on the launch pad.

We took a moment to inspect the problem but found none. It looked like our first mission would be silent running but we didn't let that dampen our spirits one bit and Civitron gave the command to launch.

As we made our way through the local starsystem our radiant ships attracted much attention from the indigenous life forms. With their video droids out they flew past and even docked transport ahead of us to marvel at our magnificence. Even the many STs we encountered gave us an approving nod!

It wasn't until shore leave at Farpoint Luna 7/11 that we discovered that two of Artemis' warp cores needed replacement. We were finally ready to BUST.THE.FUNK! And that intergalactic groove carried us all the way to the brink of the Celestial Sea. Few pilots have been lucky enough to gaze into this majestic deep-black expanse. Fewer still have been left unchanged by it.

The ride home was arduous for our babymaggots but they earned their place among our ranks well before they were able to join us on missions. Still, they danced and we laughed and Merica cried. We had a blast and had a really really really good time. We'll remember this moment for the rest of our lives. We adventurers, explorers, superheroes and rogues alike. We STARCHASERS!
