Cranks for the Memories

To welcome the coming of 2012, we turned back to our tradition of
old... that means chopping to Bunker Hill to bring in the new year. As
the clock strikes midnight, pilots are reborn like a gaggle of Baby
New Years (but more like Baby New Maggots).. we are stripped of our
rank
to begin again, and so goes the cycle of a SCUL year. And even though
Skunk retains his rank of Fleet Admiral, we still get to tackle him
and steal his Fleet Admiral Pin. So get your running shoes on, Fleet
Admiral!

So what happened? Well, it was a lovely, not-too-cold, clear winter's
night. Nosepicker navigated the fleet on the short but sweet ride
through Charlestown and up Breed's Hill. There we met a ranger with a
cool hat. As we hung out waiting for the fireworks to begin, more
civilians joined us and grooved to the tunes under the DiscoDeathStar.
At 2 minutes to midnight Skunk began the trash-talking, and to be
honest, he backed it up with some pretty nimble evasive techniques..
but eventually the mob caught him and took him down, just as the
fireworks began booming overhead.

As we gathered to leave, DreadFlint somehow managed to shear off the
left crank on BRC Water, but it's okay, we have a fix for that! Kpafun
tied DreadFlint's foot to the right pedal and he rode the whole way
home with one foot. (That included riding through the locks by North
Station... tricky!) Upon returning to the landing pad he received a
rare Medal of Artifact.

So with no further incident, the fleet returned back to base.. happy
as baby maggots and prepared to face the last year on earth. We will
BUST THE FUNK till the bitter end!!
