Pedal Melt: Ice Cream Fantastic

Mad Owl's Mission Log

The Starchasers met at the Buttonwood launchpad joined by new faces and old friends in search of delicious milk crystals and a funky good time. Once at the launchpad, Civitron experienced a nasty malfunction involving Starfire's propulsion transfer conduit, causing the mission to delay and luckily not causing a crash landing (or so we thought). Mere moments after our initial launch, the malfunction resurfaced, delaying our search even longer - but we did not give up hope, for nothing can tire our love for those sweet cryogenically-preserved crystalline globules of fat and carbohydrates, both simple and complex, otherwise referred to as that tasty treat known as "ice cream."

After we finally got off the launchpad we began the flight to our first destination, Sugar Plum, located in the dNB sector. Once there, we swarmed to the front counter with excitement and were approached by the lunar cryo-confectioner who was very happy to see us. After exchanging valid tender for milk crystals, Civitron presented the worker with a thank you in the form of a commemorative "Operation Pedal Melt" spoke card.

My milk crystals here were "Maine Blueberry" flavor.

The second stop, Acushnet Creamery on Pier 3, was not far from our first stop. The keepers of the crystals here were very busy but the wait was worth it. We stayed for a while and mingled in the funk. In all the excitement the division admiral forgot to present the workers with an object of gratitude - but nothing that can't be done by astro-courier.

My milk crystals here were "Mint Chip" flavor.

Our final stop on the route was, Dairy Maid, located across the nebulous chasm of the Rift Temple. The lines here were undoubtedly the longest but once we had gotten our final serving of crystalline lactosis, we were satisfied. A civilian and I saw a mutual friend also retrieving crystals and afterward discussed our knowledge about the political rivalry of the local space rats and space cats. Civitron gifted the workers here with our thank you and we departed.

My milk crystals here were "Mango" flavor.

On our way into the Rift Temple, Boomer revealed tunnels to the temple that had been lost to time. Most of the group (including myself) ventured into the abandoned tunnels, Boomer leading the way. The walls were adorned with murals and personal tags but the tunnels held nearly no other relics. As we got closer to the other side, we all felt strange. It wasn't long before we reached the other end but when we got there we found ourselves at the entrance again but seemingly in the future as the entrance was completely overgrown. We turned around and hurried back to the past through the tunnels. Thankfully, with our crystals fully charged, we were able to return to our own time and locate our ships. Perhaps, this strange phenomenon warrants further investigation.

Once free from the clutches of the Timeless Tunnels, we rested on the edge of the rift. At this point it was growing quite late and we decided to fly back to the launchpad. On the way back I required an emergency spacewalk which was unknown to everyone but TurboHoney, and by the time I was ready to fly, everyone was gone but her. Turbo and I flew alone through the stars hoping to be reunited with our friends. Fortunately, we were headed in the right direction, picked up their signal, and successfully returned to the launchpad.

Unfortunately for me... we have no lactaid.
